A new report claims that humans and other primates burn 50% fewer
calories each day compared to other mammals of similar size.
Experts believe
this reduced energy expenditure is responsible for our slower development and
longer life spans.
A human would need to run a marathon every day to burn the
same amount of calories as a comparably-sized non-primate mammal.
