The Magic Bullet For Life

Today, I came across an article titled "Finding Your Health Magic Bullet" and the opening lines well stated the expectations that many people have about their health. In fact, this is exactly what I thought before I was introduced to chiropractic !

Here's some of the opening paragraph:

Everyone is looking for the health "magic bullet". We all want to be
well and not plagued with sickness or infirmity. We are looking for that one
thing that is both simple and effective and above all requires little effort on
our part... there is a magic bullet and that magic bullet resides within each and every one of us." (NaturalNews.com)*

*Contains strong descriptions

The article is quick to the point and goes through many concerns regarding our desires, habits, and thoughts. The media, your nutrition, our food supply and the ties they have to our health.

Now after reading that article, you may be slightly alarmed, maybe more?

What the author is trying to explain, is that your body was made with blueprints (genes) that were designed to use pure natural elements, and we get these elements through eating. (This article only talks about food, but exercise, spinal movement, and mental health all fall under this line of thought)

Throughout all history there has never been any synthetic, chemical, processed, hydrogenated or genetic addition to our food supply. Not until recent history, 50 years or so.

Our blueprints, or genes, have become inundated with unnatural forms and substances. The only way to deal with these issues is to change the way the immune system, cardiovascular system, endocrine system, digestive system, muscular system, nervous system, respiratory system, and reproductive system act and function.

We see and experience this as Syndrome X: Diabetes, heart disease, cancer, obesity, mental disorders, fatigue, and the list goes on and on.

Now, where does that leave you? There's lots I can tell you, there's a lot our office can show you, but it stems from your desire.

Where do you want to be in 20, 30, or 40 years? What does it look like? How do you get there?

All tough questions, but I am holding a workshop on December 21st at 6:45. I will be going over exactly how I began to turn my life around and some information from some of the greatest minds on health, life, planning and motivation. My hope is to begin to answer some of those questions for you and help direct you on the right path.

Our Genes Don't Control Us

The title of today's blog may come as a bit of a surprise to most people, but if you have been around our office you may have heard that all healing power comes from within. Chiropractors term this as Innate Intelligence. In other words our body heals from within.

For example, if you sustain a cut on you're arm you don't have to actively think about stopping the bleeding, forming the scab, begin tissue healing, and ultimately form new skin. This whole process happens automatically and occurs at all levels in the body.

New discoveries in cell biology, genetics, epigenetics and physics demonstrate that we are not victims of our genes but instead have unlimited capacity to live a life overflowing with peace, happiness, health and love. Click below and join cell biologist Bruce H. Lipton as he discusses how the power of your mind and the environment you decide to place yourself in controls your health. To gain a better understanding of this idea read this post.

To fully understand what I am referring to watch this brief YouTube video from a talk Bruce Lipton did. This section is part 1 of 7 and I highly recommend that you take the time to watch the whole thing. For me it was extremely rewarding listening to someone who was describing what I have been studying with Dr. Chestnut.

The Dangers of Cholesterol Medication

CBSnews.com

When Jim Matthews needed to slash his cholesterol and heart attack risk, he joined the millions taking the world's top-selling drug, Lipitor. After five weeks, he was struck by cognitive chaos and confusion. All of a sudden, he found himself asking: "Did I go get the mail or did I just think I was going to go get the mail? Did I give my dog her thyroid pill, or did I just think I gave the dog the thyroid pill?"

He couldn't function for hours.

Everywhere you turn Cholesterol is talked about as a major cause of heart disease, but is it really? What does cholesterol do in our bodies?

An article posted on Dr. Mercola's website, Cholesterol is NOT the Cause of Heart Disease, gives a great description of some of the functions that cholesterol plays in our physiology.

Here's a few paragraphs from the article:

"Think of what happens if you were to cut your hand. Within a fraction of a second, chemicals are released by the damaged tissue to initiate the process known as inflammation. Inflammation will allow that little cut to heal, and indeed to keep you from dying. The cut blood vessels constrict to keep you from bleeding too much. Blood becomes "thicker" so that it can clot. Cells and chemicals from the immune system are alerted to come to the area to keep intruders such as viruses and bacteria from invading the cut. Other cells are told to multiply to repair the damage so that you can heal. When the repair is completed, you have lived to be careless another day, though you may have a small scar to show for your troubles. "

"We now know that similar events take place within the lining of our arteries. When damage occurs to the lining of our arteries (or even elsewhere) chemicals are released to initiate the process of inflammation. Arteries constrict, blood becomes more prone to clot, white blood cells are called to the area to gobble up damaged debris, and cells adjacent to those damaged are told to multiply. Ultimately, scars form, however inside our arteries we call it plaque. And the constriction of our arteries and the "thickening" of our blood further predisposes us to high blood pressure and heart attacks."

If you would like to read more about the cholesterol debacle visit this page on Dr. Mercola's Web site. It contains more than 30 articles about cholesterol and the usage of medications.

There is also conclusive evidence that proper levels of exercise and nutrition have a much higher success rate of reduce cholesterol levels and preventing heart disease. But if you are interested in adding a specific component to your diet, I would suggest reading the article about Red Yeast Rice on NaturalNews.com

High cholesterol is not a result of bad genes, bad germs or bad luck. Our genes require certain nutrients in the right amount to function normally. Those nutrients are diet, exercise, and mental health. Our genes, and therefore our bodies, adapt to the environment they are placed in.

If you choose not to eat properly and value taste more than nutrition, or value relaxation more than keeping fit, then you have decided the environment to place your body into. Your physiology has to adapt, and that adaptation leads to disease, every time. To get my point a little better watch this video... it's a must see!!

Changing Your Lifestyle Can Change Your Genes

I've been hearing alot about genetics lately. I'm sure you have as well, it's all over the news.

I hear a lot of people talk about sickness and disease due to the genes that they've inherited. Do you think that we are having more cancer, more diabetes, more heart disease, more brain disfunction, more of everything because our genes are bad?

If you ask any geneticist, we have about the same genes that we started with over 500 generations ago.

Then how come so many people talk about genetics causing their health problems?

I believe most people have been caught up in the blame game, instead of comparing our ancestors lifestyle to our current lifestyle, some peoeple believe that we are just unlucky.

Well in this Newsweek article posted by Dr. Dean Ornish , he describes a study recently completed about how improveing eating habits, stress managemnet techniques, exercise routines, and other non-invasive methods can change an individuals genetic expression.

In other words how you eat, move and think improves your genetics and health!!

Could you possibly agree that since the inventions of computers, mirowaves, television, big mac's, processed foods, chemical industry, etc that our bodies have an increased burden and therefore our genes have to respond differently due to our environment.

This environment consists of a lack of exercise, lack of good nutrients, lack of appropraite mental health and an over abundace of polluntants, chemicals, sugars, and medications.

We need to discover two things to achieve health and wellness.

1. Finding out what our body requires: Purity and sufficeincy
2. Riding of what pollutes our body: Deficencies and toxicities

The process of finding out what is toxic, pure, deficient or sufficent can be a challenge. But aren't you worth it!!
